The IB Mission Statement:
Flint Southwestern Classical Academy exists to develop a community of diverse learners who are committed to academic and personal excellence. An International Baccalaureate school that aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
To this end the organization works with schools, government and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment.
These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

School

Flint Southwestern Classical Academy (FSCA) is an authorized International Baccalaureate World School in the Flint Community School district.  Our diverse student population comprises of students from all areas of the city of Flint, as well as from surrounding school districts and communities within Genesee County. Our students include a number of bilingual students whose native languages include Spanish and Arabic. Additionally, over the past years, FSCA has hosted and educated up to 12 foreign exchange students representing the countries of Germany, China, Japan, and Spain.

The International Baccalaureate program at Southwestern Classical Academy consists of:

 The Middle Years Program (MYP) which serves ALL 7th through 10th graders and

The Diploma Program (DP) which serves ELIGIBLE 11th and 12th graders
 
Graduation Requirements (23 Carnegie Units)
English 4 units Language Acqusition 2 units (consecutive years)

Extra Curricular Activities

Our students enjoy a variety of extra-curricular options, including: Student Government, National Honor Society, Quiz Bowl, Language Clubs, Business Professionals of America (BPA), Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), various Career Clubs, Band, Choir and Orchestra.

Our high school competetive athletics program includes: Boys & Girls programs in Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, Golf, Cross Country, Basketball, Track & Field, Bowling, Volleyball, Wrestling, Baseball, Softball, and Football.

Our Middle school program includes: Football, Boys & Girls Cross Country, Boys and Girls Basketball, Volleyball, Baseball, Softball and Boys & Girls Track.
