Dear Students,
As finals approach, I want to remind you how important it is to take care of yourselves, and that includes getting enough rest. Sleep plays a critical role in helping your brain process and retain the material you've studied. Pulling all-nighters might seem productive, but it often does more harm than good, leaving you feeling exhausted and less focused during your exams.
Here are a few tips to help you prioritize rest:
Stick to a schedule: Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep each night, even during finals week.
Create a relaxing bedtime routine: Take time to unwindāread a book, listen to calming music, or practice deep breathing.
Avoid screens before bed: Blue light from phones or laptops can disrupt your sleep.
Remember, a well-rested mind performs better. You've worked hard all semesterālet rest give you the edge you need to succeed.

Today the City of Flint will officially launch its Peer Mediation Program, an innovative initiative aimed at fostering conflict resolution, improving school culture, and empowering student leaders across the district.
The program has garnered significant interest, with a total of 40 students enrolled, including five from Flint Southwestern Academy, five from Accelerated Learning Academy, and ten from each participating elementary and middle school. This diverse group of students will be equipped with essential skills to mediate conflicts among their peers, promote understanding, and create a more harmonious learning environment.
